BRAVE PROCESSING POWER

The VIA camera utilizes Contrast’s Elan processing engine to become a compact, robust image processing development platform. The VIA allows for easy external access to the internal high-powered, configurable FPGA for custom image processing applications. Using JTAG and Ethernet to access dual-A25 processors running Linux, dual R5 processors for real-time software, and Programmable Logic, the VIA is powerful and capable. Contrast’s VIA and the ELAN engine were designed with unparalleled software, firmware and flexibility that will revolutionize real-time image processing. 

 

The VIA is especially well suited for custom imaging applications and industries such Traffic/Toll Booth Monitoring, Military Acquisition Pointing and Tracking, Automation and Inspection, and custom consumer Machine Vision applications.

Contrast’s patented amp image-splitting and combining technology composes a single HDR video stream from multiple sensors. The amp HDR camera system captures images and video in real-time, and produces and displays accurate, real-life scenes with displayed luminance ranges that go far beyond what is possible with any other camera. You get images that are always perfectly exposed and capture the entire light range in every frame.  The ARC’s extended range pairs well to 4K HDR-ready TVs, allowing live-streaming of command and control to enhance real-time applications like never before.

 

As the only camera that can display, analyze and use high-frame rate HDR video with zero artifacts, the ARC is perfectly suited to upend the traffic monitoring industry. Our patented HDR methods allow for huge advances in the amount of data that can be collected and analyzed – making self-driving systems more robust and safer.

To put amp’s remarkable technology into perspective, the human eye has over 20 stops of dynamic range while a typical consumer camera has about 7 stops. High–end professional cameras may have as much as 13 stops of dynamic range with post processing but this is still hundreds of times less than your eye can see. The LUX 4K HDR camera system can stream nearly 18 stops of dynamic range on demand, almost achieving the same depth and brilliance of what you experience with your own eyes.
