With the postponement of the 2020 International Balloon Fiesta, the question arose how to lift up our community during the absence of this monumental event?  A local drone company, Colibri Media House, had unseen AIBF balloon footage from years past and saw an opportunity to bring some much-needed joy to Albuquerque and the world. Introducing, the Balloon Fiesta Fives—5-minute episodes featuring AIBF drone footage will debut once a day from October 3rd through the 11th, when thousands of people would otherwise be enjoying the event live from Balloon Fiesta Park. The “Float for Five” theme reminds us to take a moment for ourselves during this stressful, unprecedented time in our history and simply enjoy the beauty of hot-air balloons against the backdrop of our brilliant blue NM skies. This feel-good, virtual event has a unique opportunity to bring our community together and help our local Albuquerque businesses and organizations receive international exposure, shining a positive light on our beautiful City.
